The main purpose of the Doctorate in Medieval, Modern, Contemporary and American History, which is related to the masters’ degrees taught by the Department of Medieval, Modern and Contemporary History of the University of Salamanca, is to provide students with advanced and expert training in the necessary skills and competences to conduct research in the different branches of medieval, modern, contemporary and American history.
At the same time, students will be provided with a sound theoretical background and with the necessary tools to approach different historical problems and begin research towards the presentation and defence of their dissertation in the field of medieval, modern, contemporary and American history.
This program is especially intended for licentiates or undergraduates in History or in similar licentiate or undergraduate degrees, who have completed master’s degree studies related to historical research in any of the relevant aspects, and who have sufficient Spanish language proficiency.
